“Nas is reported to have paid $2 million for a beat created by The Neptunes, which Busta Rhymes claims will shake hip hop to its very foundations.
The rap star is understood to have beaten-off competition from Puff Daddy, amongst others, in securing the looped rhythm for the gargantuan fee.
The Neptunes, led by hip hop superhero Pharell Williams, have been behind some of the most inventive hip hop production of recent years, leading to this apparently unparalleled invention.
Speaking about the beat, which he seems to have had the pleasure of hearing, Busta Rhymes said, rather excitedly: “Ah sh*t, that’s the craziest beat I ever heard!
“Those drums man…Those drums are fire! If Nas is gonna rap to this beat, it’s going to be over. This will be the biggest hit in the history of hip hop.”
No track or release details have yet been announced for the chart-destroying track or the $2 million beat in question.”
