    Xbox galore!

    Posted on 10 November 2005

So the Xbox 360 comes out nov. 22, there’s all this hype right now about how stores are no longer taking pre-orders because there are far too many already. and at the same time, microsoft is trying to make sure that they will be able to satisfy all the hungry and demanding customers by having enough supply. i’m excited about this console and am curious to see how well it does in the market. after all, the PS3 (and the Nintendo console) doesn’t come out until about a year from now… i guess we’ll wait and see…

    From MSNBC.com (10/25/05):

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Less than a month before Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 hits store shelves, International Business Corp. revealed details of the microprocessor that powers the long-awaited video game console.

The IBM-built chip features three customized PowerPC computing engines that can each handle two simultaneous tasks at clock speeds greater than 3 gigahertz. It was customized for Microsoft in less than 24 months from the original contract.
