    Taiwan Idiosyncrasies

    Posted on 09 January 2006

I’ve been in Taiwan for about a week or two and noticed some interested things, here are some interesting facts about Taiwan:

  • Grocery bags cost money at supermarkets — about 5 cents US each.
  • There is an IKEA Taiwan (and CostCo) — this was kinda surprising to me.
  • There are full-service Haagen Dazs ice cream places here (i.e. sit down, order, etc.)
  • Taipei 101 in downtown Taipei is the tallest building in the world.
  • Supermarkets have the option to deliver the items you just bought to your residence (since many ppl walk or drive mopeds).
