My Finance Management
The ever-so-cliche phrase:
Save for the rainy days.
I live by this saying. I’m generally a pretty cheap guy. In other words, I usually think things over a bit before handing over the cash, just ask my girlfriend.. :p I know that it can get annoying and I admit that sometimes I’m a little too conscious of my spending, especially when it’s really minor things like eating out or gas money, etc. (working on improving)
Although when it comes to the latest tech gadgets, any concept of saving money immediately flys out the door. This is bad.. e.g. I almost bought the new iPod video today, totally unncessary.
I thought I’d share my current finance management structure:

I contemplate pretty often about how I allocate my savings and how to save for the future.
-
- Notice that the amount that I allot for actual spending is only 10% of my total savings. I did this on purpose to forbid myself from overspending. I guess this is also why I’m so cheap sometimes…
- 73% in CDs, I’ve seen some good money come out of this over the last year or two, thanks to my Mom for getting me hooked on CDs, always jumping on the highest percentage CDs.. really a great way to make easy long-term $
- Purchasing Stocks at 17%, I’m adding more reserves to this area periodically. Risky investment but gets my adrenaline going! Dividends are good even if the money is just sitting there. I’m playing carefully, luckily I haven’t gotten spanked yet.
My goal is to increase my net worth day by day.
