So Kevin Wan and Kevin Wu told me earlier tonight about the new Tickle Me Elmo TMX and how extremely high the demand is for these toys. I’d heard nothing about the thing (except like four or five years ago when there was a huge hype over it). So I got curious, came home and checked YouTube, low and behold… there it was on the front page.

This suped up TMX version of the Elmo doll is an amazingly animated toy …but a bit creepy. I guess to innocent and pure-minded little kids, it’s nothing but fun! Watch and make your own judgment :)

How crazy is that? Apparently the packaging of the toy is this box with a bunch of warning signs on it like “Top Secret” (see below), and when you open the first flap… it exclaims in a high pitched voice:

“Uh uh uh… No peeking! Ha ha ha ha!!”

That’s a little creepy. I think it’s pretty amazing how much demand there is for a doll like this. The craze is pretty unimaginable and the hype is not just among little kids, shoot.. half the videos on YouTube are of adults playing with the toy in their cubicles or at home.
