News in a Can, a Minimalistic Read
Do you read the news everyday? I try to catch up on the latest in tech and world news whenever I can. Netvibes is a really good aggregation tool for clumping all your faves into one site.
But sometimes I just want it to be like the old days, where I would get up and read through the newspaper, absorbing the gist of all the important articles (I don’t get the newspaper anymore).
So I decided to create a dumbed down online newspaper for myself (and for anyone who gets value from it). The news content is fed from Digg.com and updated probably every 10-20 minutes or so.
I like it this way because I can see snippets and the gist of articles without having to go to any external sites. But if you choose to read more, you can click the title links. The minimalistic text interface feels a little like craigslist. Bear in mind that these are merely the most popular articles on Digg, some user generated.
