Thinking about buying that slick new iPod? Or maybe you’re considering a new cell phone?

iPhone.
Today is my birthday :) and I’m happy to hear the progress on Apple’s rumored iPhone. Yesterday, Apple’s patent filing for the rumored iPhone was finally confirmed.
From Red Herring:
“Apple filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in August for the patent proposal covering a portable computing device, a cell phone, and a media player—a combination that could rock the industry.
The filing cross-references a list of related patent applications. Those applications describe a media device, a touchpad for handhelds, and a computer enclosure, among other features.”
Some say that the iPhone will be released at MacWorld in January 2007. Apple is at $91/share at the time of this post. Let’s monitor its progress in the coming months. Two yummy anticipations:

In other news, I think Apple’s next-gen video iPod has been delayed. I’m thinking no video iPod until at least end of 2008…maybe for the next holiday season. Keep your fingers crossed.

Hopefully “delayed” translates to “cancelled, we changed our mind and will do the iphone instead”
