Google’s new baby, SearchMash
Want a glimpse into the future of Google?
Meet SearchMash, Google’s new pet project.
Information courtesy of William Pramana. SearchMash is Google’s pilot project to continue to innovate the online search experience. Search for something in SearchMash and notice the sidebar on the right:
A search for “Tony Chung”

Yep! Aggregation! Right now, there are Wikipedia, Images, Blogs, and Video links attached to search results. Great idea, these functions are scalable and I’ll bet they’ll soon be customizable to the individual user’s tastes.
If Google really wanted to monopolize, they could feed only results from their own services:
- Images - images.google.com
- Blogs - blogger.com
- Video - youtube.com OR video.google.com
- Wiki - JOTSPOT!!!
Yes, Google owns all those companies. But they wouldn’t do that…. would they?
What about you, Google or SearchMash?
