[…] This is an amazing line-up converging on the design and development of the iPhone. What’s more incredible is that a lot of this is happening only a few miles from my home. […]

    2. Kevin Says:

I like how Steve Jobs mentions that there is a lot of high-technology built into the iPhone.

Hmm…an accelerometer? These have been around forever. My Canon SD300 has one to detect whether or not photos were taken vertically or horizontally, then when you play back the pictures you don’t have to tilt the camera to view vertical photos.

Hmm…an ambient light sensor? Ever heard of something called a night light?

Hmm…a proximity sensor? They probably just reuse the night light.

      Fanboys, attack me!

    3. Jon Tzou Says:

Haha, this, Kevin, is what Apple does best. Rather, what Jobs and his “distortion field” does best.

He and his team are able to incorporate the most commonplace, everyday-esque things into their creations and turn them into awe-inspiring, coveted items. WiFi and Bluetooth are cool, but the obvious, but necessary nuances are what make Apple products great.

No point in reinventing the wheel, you know? And for the record, I’m no Apple fanboy. I am, however, a fan of elegant, practical design.

P.S. Kev, this is no personal vendetta, you just happen to pique my interest with your commentary =)

i love this pic the best. =) how did u manage to get into the microsoft blogger lounge? special invite by microsoft? its even weird that microsoft has such premium treatment to bloggers fawning on other people’s products, they really loosened up after scoble huh?

    5. Tony Chung Says:

Thanks Bjorn! Actually, the MS Blogger Lounge was basically open to any bloggers. Although they were pretty strict, I saw some people come in, use the computers, and get shoo-ed away because they “weren’t blogging about the event” :p

It was pretty kick-ass that MS offered the lounge AND the free drinks, i much diggith.
