Google goes Viral with Gmail Video

Here’s Google’s new (8 days old as of this posting) video posted on YouTube about why you should use Gmail (clever and well produced):

With over 150,000 views in a week, I’d say this video is pretty viral (granted it’s slapped onto the frontpage of Gmail.com). A relatively cool and clever video. I think it’s the first video of this type ever made public by Google. Coolest part? Their YouTube username is “google”. ;)
Seriously though.. who doesn’t know about or use Gmail?

Man this video is so boring. I watched maybe a minute of it before just skipping through it. They definitely should not let engineers produce videos.

It’s a good thing they split the video into individual acts. It does get a little bland after those skits go on …and on.

It’s NOT clever and NOT well produced. I agree with Kevin - it lost my attention and interest within the first 30 seconds. It’s only cool if you’re a hard core nerd who loves Gmail…to the rest of the man-made world, it is pansy crap.

those home-made characters with office stationery and crap was cheap and resourceful thinking.

I kinda like the video too. =) It kinda reminds me of a high school skit presentation. Hit or miss kinda thing.

Mixed feelings about the video, some of which I covered on Adrants. And I started to go into it again here before I realized I was ranting - all over again.
I think, complicated feelings aside, I liked the concept.

Whatever one thinks about the video, you have to agree…the engineer is gorgeous! I’d give anything to get to know him a lot better. Yum!
