Justin.tv, Addicting and Compelling
Posted on 19 March 2007
If you’re bored this morning, check out Justin.tv. Justin is walking around San Francisco with a webcam attached to his head 24-7. The site launched less than 9 hours ago. It is logging everything Justin does everyday, every minute. It’s like The Truman Show. This is very interesting.

Beware… addicting!
Update: I feel like helping these guys out. Watch here:

In case you guys don’t know, Justin and Emmett were the founders of www.kiko.com, an online scheduling program that was sold on eBay after Google Calendar killed them. I’ve met Justin in person while they were testing justin.tv. He basically straps a camera to the side of his hat and wears a backpack full of batteries and equipment to stream video over EVDO. Justin has pretty bad breath. Haha, not that that’s relevant or anything. Justin seems like a pretty cool guy though - but I think watching his life is boring. They need to find a celebrity fast.

when i first heard about this, i had the same reaction as Kevin.
but after chatting with Justin & Michael about their “vision” & having met the rest of the team, i changed my mind .. the possibilities are endless, not to mention endlessly fascinating.. could be quite revolutionary.. just a matter of implementation.

Yea it’s a pretty interesting concept. I find it pretty compelling, although some of his content is bland. The funnest part is watching him sleep at night in ‘nightvision’. Check it out tonight. ;)
Bad breath haha, you are full of juicy facts Kevin. Keep ‘em coming!
I’m curious to see how long these guys will keep the channel running for. I guess until people get bored or until the traffic dies. Any guesses on how long the program will last for?

I agree it’s interesting, sort of like a real version of reality TV. I think that this could run for a while if the site gets support from sponsors and don’t forget about copycat sites.
