Here’s my prediction:
If the mavericks don’t start showing up to play GS (they’re good and I know it, fast as hell, too), I’m going to have an ulcer. Or three. The local pundits here thought Golden State would be easy and it’s getting irritating. I’ve been watching the Mavs since I was like 5, so I hope I can make it through round 1.

Well said Preston. The Warriors series is all that matters right now, because if they win and Spurs pull out of their series with the Nuggets I think the Spurs have the green light to go out of the way. Teams that run (IE Suns, Warriors) don’t stand a chance against thefast-break defense of the Spurs, and should the Jazz or Rockets beat the Warriors (which by the way, I highly doubt) the inconsistencies of both these teams create horrifying results for themselves. The Jazz depend too much on Boozer to have a good game, and the Rockets depend too much on Tracy McGrady. The only team that can stop the Spurs are the Mavs.
An inconsistent San Antonio team that had their big 3 shoot 19-51 (37% when they typically average close to 50%) for 40 points made it a wire job against the explosive Nugget team including Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson. That’s how good they are.
Eastern Conference what? Don’t even mention them. There’s no team on that side that can stand in their way. Detroit is maybe good for 2 games.
All that said, GO WARRIORS! WE BELIEVE BABY!

Wow, brilliant analysis there Emile. I never thought of it that way. Game one was a shocker for me too Preston. I’m confident the Mavs will turn it around in game 2.

Realistically speaking, Mav should be coming out of the West. Since GSW has whopped their sorry ass sunday night, im pretty sure Avery’s got a couple tricks up his sleeves to push the Mavz.
But PLAYOFFS ARE ALWAYS FULL OF SURPRISES, i wouldnt be surprise if GSW take down the MAVZ due to the fact that Don Nelson knows all there is to Dirks weakness and how the Mav team runs on and off the court, you can clearly tell that the GSW did a good job of bothering Dirk by doubling him right when he turns around for his usual fadeaway. Also, on the mental side, Mavz got a sh%t load of pressure going into the playoff with the best record in the league, while GSW’s got nothing to lose and they are just playing their style of basketball.
I am rooting for Suns to come out of the West, i defintely think they have a good chance of advancing, however, i think Nuggets poses more of a threat to Suns than any other team in the West right now, since AI and Melo knows how to get in the paint and draw fouls which slows down Sun’s fast paced games which they are best at. This has been proven through out the seasons games, so yea, we’ll see.
why didnt i mention spurs? they play one hell of good d, but seriously man, their offense has been so sloppy i dont think they can surpass second round or even the first round if Nuggets keeps it up. Also, with teams that plays small ball like Suns and warriors who guns a lota threes and goes on crazy runs, no lead is ever safe against these teams. What about getting to the free throw line? we all know know spurs has been taking free throw lessons from shaq.
maybe im just an optimist but who knows, you cant put rationales into playoff games, just my two cents.

All I have to say is the Mav’s are going down again tonight.

Man, your predictions really couldn’t be further off. And to this dude that thinks the Sperms are going to take it, they ain’t nuthin’ but a bunch of dirty, no-talent, brick shootin’ cry babies. They must have paid off the NBA to give those BS suspensions to the Suns. The NBA cost the Suns this years championship, bunch off damn crooks. I say go Jazz, Kill the Sperms!!!
