My Mavericks, What Happened.
Posted on 29 April 2007

Watching the Dallas Mavericks in Game 4 against the Golden State Warriors hurt very bad for the following reasons:
- Consecutive air balls in the fourth quarter
- Turnover galore
- Not being able to get into the paint
- Being the top seed, but playing like they don’t belong in the playoffs
Bottom line: The Mavericks were pathetic and embarrassing.
If Golden State proceeds to the next round (very likely given the 3-1 record), this will be one of the saddest upsets in NBA history. The Warriors are looking superb, like true warriors who WANT to win. Can’t say the same of the Mavs…

I’ve been a Dallas follower since the late-80s. I used to stay up late watching the mavs in my room when they would only win 8 or 9 games a season. Forget homework, I was watching the mavs. After they choked up the finals last season, I was ticked. They had no heart. No respect for their competition. I didn’t start watching the mavs again until about January this year. After watching them, I thought this finals would be different. I couldn’t have been more wrong. I’ve got 6 final exams over the next week and a half, and I’ve been shirking all that cheering on the mavs. What a waste. I’m done watching. I’ve got finals to study for and other things to look forward to. I can’t watch dirk shirk one more game.

In the third quarter when the crowd was cheering “Bullsh*t… bullsh*t…” that’s when I realized just how insanely awesome the Bay Area crowd really is. That was totally crazy.
Jeremy, that was probably the best game to be at man.
Preston, 4-0 will be a difficult feat for the Mavs. But I still have an ounce of hope. We’ll see on Tuesday…

Jermz, I thought you were a Celtics/Pacers fan. What happened?
Anyway Tony, I think you mis-spoke this is by no means a ’sad’ upset… It will certainly go down as one of the greatest upsets in NBA history if GSW can close out the series.
You guys still can win it… It’s not over till it’s over!
Warriors > Mavs
