Powercart is a Success!
Update: For anybody interested in taking a ride on the cart, we will be giving our demo and presentation this Friday, May 11th at 8:30AM in the Engineering bldg. on campus at San Jose State University. Ping me for more info.
I am ecstatic.
A few hours ago at 10:30pm, for the very first time ever, our senior project came to life and operated the way we had intended it to. It is moving forward, backward, and turning. It even does doughnuts! =)
Some videos for your viewing pleasure (very preliminary, draft/rough version) — Eric and me being stupid on the cart :):

As a form of celebration, we took the cart for a full victory lap around the engineering building (at 11pm at night — the janitors smiled, they were intrigued). =)
The culmination of long, sleepless nights, hard work, and stress… the hundreds of dollars we poured into the project after burning chip after chip… it has all paid off. It really has. Nothing matches my state of happiness right now. I feel incredibly happy for my team, for our hard work. WE DID IT. This is definitely the highlight of my undergraduate career. Something I will remember at age 40. Tomorrow we will continue to optimize the cart, and Friday we present it to the school. It is 1:56AM. Long nights prevail!

Congratulations! I remember the first time my senior project at Cal Poly finally worked, and how excited I was. Good work to you and your team!
