In Reno for the Week
Posted on 29 May 2007
Yep that’s right. Living the post-graduation life to the max. Gambling away in Reno. Well actually I’m here attending an engineering conference ECTC with my dad (and mom), sorta like a graduation gift of sorts. We arrived today, it feels like a cruise experience here. We are staying in John Ascuaga’s Nugget Hotel: paid-for meals, gym, pool, gambling, and cable TV (oh and Internet). It’s really all I could ask for.

Time to continue gambling… Any tips on games to play besides Blackjack? I’m heavily addicted to it.

Paigow Poker, I learned how to play it this year at CES. It’s fun.

I heard that with Craps, you can actually play a long time with the money you have…there’s should be times when they teach you (for free) how to play the game….I love blackjack also. Or you can go to the slots and get free watered down drinks…haha

Sweet Jason, I might actually give craps a chance.

yea, craps baby. definitely a fun game to play. However, in my experience with craps, I found that you can win/lose in a matter of minutes. It is a very fast paced game and adrenaline really kicks in. Beware: you can have a whole lot of money on the table and not even realize it, because it’s so easy to just put money down. it’s an addicting game. but oh-so fun.

Paigow poker and craps, got it. I will scout the tables and learn today, who knows… maybe even drop some dough. ;)
Thanks guys!

Last time I was in Reno I played a lot of Roulette. I spent the whole night placing my chips in such a manner that they made interesting geometric patterns on the board (yeah I’m a huge nerd…); anyway, apparently it’s a way to either win really slowly or lose really slowly.
I have no idea what the point of this story was other than nerd it up while you are gambling Tony!

Play Paigow Poker if you want to sit there for a long time. You push most of the time, so the money doesn’t drain as quick. Careful with Craps and for god’s sake don’t play Roulette (no brains involved). I would just sit a low stakes ($5 or less) Poker table and order shots!

Nice Charn. I will definitely nerd it up here while gambling =)
I played some Paigow yesterday, bad luck there. But definitely see the point of many pushes and slower pace than blackjack. I’ve drank like 3-4 bottles of alcohol per day here… free drinks are tempting. ;)
