Silverchair Stands Above the Rest
There’s this rock band that I’m super passionate about and want to share with you.

Here are some facts:
- The name of the band is Silverchair.
- They are Australian.
- They are one of two bands who turned me on to rock music in the 1990s. (the other was Smashing Pumpkins)
- They’ve released five albums to date.
- Their most recent album is their best-selling to date (4 weeks at #1 down under).
- Tony’s take:
These days, there are less quality albums — you know, the ones where EVERY track is well-written, arranged, and produced (e.g. Muse - Absolution). Have you heard the new Linkin Park or Maroon 5 albums? Decent, but it is evident that some of the songs are intentionally catered to the mainstream. Silverchair has kept it real for a long time now, writing what they believe is great, quality, groundbreaking music, at the expense of not hitting the airwaves as often. Their newest album, Young Modern, is their BEST work to date. Amazing album, every song is outstanding. Takes a few listens to really grasp their ideas. They are one of the most true and quality bands around today.
Here is one of my current favorite songs, ‘All Across the World’:

way back when, I remember you were totally into Silverchair. I didn’t know they still made music!! I just knew that Daniel Johns was married to Natalie Imbruglia. Thanks for keeping me updated!!

Most def, Silverchair is still alive and rockin. In fact they’ll be doing a nationwide tour of the U.S. in the next few months. It’ll be fantastic. ;)

I saw these guys during the Frogstomp tour. He was the “new Curt Cobain”, haha, that brings back some memories. Nothing but a t-shirt on in 0 degree weather waiting for them to open the doors, probably will never forget that. It was a good show too, from what I remember. Haven’t really listened to them since that album though. Will check out the new stuff.

Yea, the grunge days! Frogstomp was back when they were big in the U.S. Since then, their music has taken a turn (more ambitious and experimental).
You should definitely check out their new stuff Paul.

They were some young kids in those days. I can barely recognize them now! I still listen to Frogstomp…. Pure Massacre.
