Theory on Life as a Game of Blackjack

Life is basically a game of Blackjack.

Oh no, here comes another Tony-has-gone-loco statement. ;) But hear me out. These two days have been phenomenal for me (and potentially life-changing in ways). I just sat here for about ten minutes trying to think of the perfect analogy that can describe my present feelings. And the above statement is 100% reflective of what I am thinking.

So here’s the full theory:

Life is basically a game of Blackjack. In the game of Blackjack, every so often, you get a 21 and win big. However, 90% of the time you get dealt 2-20 or bust and the game basically averages out to be small ups and downs. In life, you are basically dealt around 5-10 positive, lifechanging moments or opportunities. That’s IT. These events can be in the form of meeting your soulmate or a near-death experience that shifts your perspective on life.

You will know for damn certain when one of these moments arrive. The rest of the time you are alive is basically a series of small ups and downs (steady and relatively boring) just like in Blackjack.

When your 21 comes in life, cherish the crap out of it.
Take full advantage of it. Run with it.
It’s your time… and this is 1 of only 5 such opportunities of a lifetime.

Agree or disagree?
