    Hard Sell = Bad Move.

    Posted on 01 October 2007

In Taiwan, most retail chains survive by hard selling their products. What do I mean? You walk in a store, and the employee will try to assist you and have you buy one of their products in any way possible. It’s quite pathetic really. Because it’s completely obvious what their intention is. Their objective is not to try to assist you in your shopping experience. It is instead simply to make you buy something (anything)!

Bad move. If you just be a pal and help me out without blatantly exposing your intention of taking my money, I just might be inclined to buy something. Maybe this tactic works better on the submissive type…
