International Perspective is a Beautiful Thing

    Posted on 04 November 2007

During my stay in Taiwan, I’ve noticed a lack of international perspective here. Many Taiwanese folks are focused on the culture and environment here and lack the understanding of cultures outside of this island.

In my opinion, it is unfortunate and puts these people at a disadvantage. Yes you can learn things through movies and music, but it’s simply not the same as physically experiencing a different cultural flavor. On this note, I feel very privileged to be able to travel to another country and experience a fresh environment.

What’s the point of this post? I encourage all of you to get out of your comfort zone and visit foreign places where you’ve never been (especially if you are a musician or any type of artist for that matter). I will be going to Japan in the winter and hopefully to Europe in 2008.

If you’ve never visited Taiwan, here are ten things you will find here and not in USA. ;-)
