I Upgraded to a Mac Mini

There she is. ;)
Intel Core 2 Duo, 1G RAM, 80GB hard drive, Bluetooth, etc.
The speed of the Mac Mini is surprisingly a lot faster than my 12″ Powerbook. I know it’s a faster processor, but didn’t expect this much of an improvement. I will be selling my Powerbook to a friend here (actually a bit sad to get rid of it, lots of memories with that machine :/).
I’ve got Leopard installed on my Mini, some pretty sweet new features. Putting aside all the obvious fancies, here is my list of favorite additions:
- Quicktime Command-1, Command-2, etc. in Full Screen mode… totally awesome! Basically, it resizes within full screen mode, keeping the borders black… Small improvement I know, but it is totally awesome when you are watching a long movie that may have crappier quality.
- Pop-up folders in the dock. This is actually really helpful for web browser downloads. When you download something, you can click on the downloads icon, and boom… all your downloads pop-up instantly.
And there are the usual Spaces, Time Machine fancies that everyone talks about… I actually don’t use Spaces that much (yet)…
