Japan Trip, Day Two - Apple Store and More…

    Posted on 25 December 2007

This is my second day in Tokyo, Japan. A bit exhausted from the full day of walking…

    Today we visited three locations:

    1. Azukusa area
    2. Ginza district
    3. Financial district

Azukusa is a big tourist attraction. It is basically a long line of shops terminating with a large temple at the end. The place looks very traditional and they sell a lot of small toys and gadgets (good souvenir items).

The Ginza district is pretty much the high class area of Tokyo. That’s where I am in the photo above. You know me and Apple ;) They have a lot of high-end stores like Louis Vuitton, Bvlgari, Chanel, etc. It is beautiful there and a LOT of people were walking to and forth, since it was Christmas day.

The Financial district is pretty much the Wall Street of Tokyo. It is beautiful at night, with tall, lit skyscrapers and Christmas lights everywhere. The majority of people are dressed in nice suits and busy getting to their next destination.

At night, we drank at a very nice, classy Japanese-traditional-style sake lounge with Hase and Eriko. It was so great to see Eriko again after more than five years!

Japan truly is ahead of the rest of the world in terms of technology toys. There are some uber crazy tech gadgets here that I’ve haven’t seen anywhere in the rest of the world yet. Super small computers and cell phones that run TV fluidly (apparently the latter has been out for two years already…)

Here I am with a super small computer that holds 80GB and runs Windows Vista…

More photos to come when I get back to Taipei…
