iPhone 3G, the Ultimate Incentive for Anything.
“Introducing… the first phone to beat the iPhone…”

The opening statement of Apple’s commercial for its new iPhone 3G that came out yesterday. Clever :)
So wtf does this blog post title mean? “The Ultimate Incentive for Anything.” Well, to begin with, the iPhone in itself has basically become a symbol of class, wealth, hipness, and suave. Doesn’t matter if you’re seventy or fifteen years old. And here’s another somewhat far-fetched philosophy I’m willing to term a fact…
No matter if you have one or not, you wouldn’t mind having an iPhone.

Right? It’s like money really. No matter how much money you have, you wouldn’t mind having more… Whoa… what a second, let’s take take that comparison to the next level… Money = iPhone = form of currency, a bit far-fetched yes, but if you look at it in this context, it kinda makes sense. A lot of times my friends find me saying…
“Dude, that _____ is so expensive, I could buy three and a half iPhones for that price!”
Again… iPhones have become a form of currency (at least in my world). So back to the title of this post… Replace the word ‘iPhone 3G’ in the title with the word ‘money’. Do you feel me? The iPhone has become so desirable in today’s society that being able to have one can be a strong incentive for many situations. For example, corporations looking to hire top talent. Offer a free iPhone to new employees and it takes the offer to a whole new level. It’s like the ultimate perk. The funny thing is that it’s not even that expensive now really (minus monthly cell phone bills).
So the conclusion: If you REALLY want someone to do something, just offer them a $199 incentive in the form of an 8GB iPhone 3G. ;-) It might just do the trick!
