Well it would be nice if it rendered nicely in Safari
When you click “Comments” it seems the page doesn’t render correctly.
Overall I like the look just a little too much going on on the front page. Maybe you can hide some of the functionality that way novice users are not scared away but advanced users can get at it (like Apples idea behind the one button mouse).
I was thinking maybe you can move the Ads right at the top to the right side bar. Putting them right in-front of a post is kinda intrusive. Also if you could pare down the “Subscribe to Geekwhat.com” section and condense the “Recent/Popular/Comments” and “Categories” right columns into one would make it much nicer.
Keep in mind I’m a huge fan of minimalism so take my comments with a grain of salt.
Thanks for the feedback Charn, will definitely make some changes tonight.
I’m digging the new design, though the index is a bit cluttered with the image at the top of each entry which is something your old layout handled well.
Regarding what Charn mentioned about the page not rendering correctly when you click Comments — I’m seeing the same thing in Opera and Firefox. I’ve tracked it down to the DOMtab script hiding elements of an anchored link. Another example: http://geekwhat.com/2007/10/24/what-do-you-think-about-the-new-look/?#page will hide the entire page.
Any thoughts on how to fix this bug?
nm fixed
Tony.

Thanks Chris, I’m in Taiwan right now bro… how are things?
Icy. Different. Aye, when are you coming back from Taiwan?
Icy = good? :p
Unsure as of now, sometime early to mid 2008 perhaps…
I’m not a big fan of change but this I can live with
